ABOUT THIS EVENT
Volunteers are needed on behalf of Anaheim Community Foundation for the 2009 Disneyland® Half Marathon.The Disneyland® Resort, Disney's Wide World of Sports®, and the city of Anaheim, California are happy to hold the 2009 Disneyland® Half Marathon Weekend, the Happiest Race on Earth for the fourth year! Drawing from 16 years of history with the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Marathon Weekend in Florida, this event will welcome thousands of runners to the Disneyland® Resort and the city of Anaheim in September 2009. Volunteers for the Disneyland® Half Marathon Expoare needed for athlete registration and goody bag distribution. Volunteers for the Disney's Family Fun Run 5K & Kids' Races and Disneyland® Half Marathon are needed for the start area, course, water stops, food stops, and finish line area.
VOLUNTEER RESTRICTIONS
Volunteers must be at least 15 years of age for the EXPO and 12 years of age for RACE DAY. Volunteers under 18 years of age must have parental/guardian consent. Remember that children under the age of 12 are not allowed to volunteer or accompany you. You will be told on the event day that your services cannot be utilized if you have children with you. This is for the safety of your child and everyone else involved.
EVENT BENEFICIARY
Anaheim Community Foundation (ACF) will be the beneficiary of the 2009 Disneyland Half Marathon. The organization will receive more than $5,000 in donations as part of this year's race. Founded in 1984, ACF exists to encourage community participation, partnerships, and collaboration that result in successful responses to community challenges and opportunities. Provide individuals and businesses opportunities to make charitable investments that directly benefit the Anaheim community. VOLUNTEER INCENTIVES
As a volunteer for the 2009 Disneyland® Half Marathon Expo, Disney's Family Fun Run 5K & Kid Race, and Disneyland® Half Marathon, you will receive apparel, light snack per shift, and, if you meet the eligibility requirements, a Disneyland® theme park ticket. Theme park ticket distribution is based on minimum volunteer shifts worked. Each volunteer must work at least two volunteer shifts to be eligible for the complimentary Park admission. Each volunteer must also sign in and sign out for each shift to be eligible for the complimentary Park admission.
GROUP OPPORTUNITIES
Celebrate the 2009 Disneyland® Half Marathon with family and friends! Reserve a volunteer location for your group of 10 or more. Please email lisa@spectrumsports.net for more information.
Groups of 50 or more who register before June 5, 2009, are eligible for a complimentary Disneyland® theme park ticket. The group only needs to work one volunteer shift (as a group), to be eligible for this incentive. All members of the group are required to work the assigned shift, as well as, sign in and sign out on the day of your assigned volunteer shift, in order to receive the complimentary Park admission.
TEAM LEADER OPPORTUNITIES
Team Leaders are needed to oversee specific volunteer locations. Team Leaders are required to attend Team Leader Training and participate in a site visit before Race Day. Due to the additional time commitment, Team Leaders are only required to work one volunteer shift to be eligible for the complimentary Disneyland® theme park ticket. VOLUNTEER SCHEDULE
Volunteer shifts and activities will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. Although every effort will be made to accommodate your selection, the scheduling office reserves the right to schedule volunteers based on event needs, which includes placing volunteers on a waiting list.
You will receive a confirmed volunteer schedule, via email, approximately one month prior to the event. Schedules are subject to change. All volunteers are required to sign a release waiver.
