You will only be able to purchase this specially priced 1-day theme park ticket during 5K registration. The 1-day ticket purchased with registration can only be picked up at Packet Pick-up on Friday or Saturday. The 1-day ticket WILL NOT be available to you before Packet Pick-up.

Specially priced multi-day tickets will be available to you through the online ticket store.  Look for the password and link to the ticket store in your registration confirmation email.  See below for additional Theme Park Ticket details.

Online registration will close Sunday, February 21, 2010 or when registration reaches capacity. Registration will be available at Packet Pick-up on Friday, February 26 only if the race has not reached capacity. There will be no day of race registration.

Disney's Kids' Races
Children ages 1 to 8 can participate in kids' races ranging from the 100 meter run to the 400 meter dash as a part of the Champion 5K at ESPN The Weekend presented by Dick's Sporting Goods.

All participants must be able to maintain a 15-minute per mile pace.

Cancellation & Transfer Policy
Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions will be made.

 *Theme Park Ticket entitles you to one day of admission to one of the following theme parks:  Magic Kingdom® Park, Epcot®, Disney's Hollywood Studios™, or Disney's Animal Kingdom® Theme Park.  Ticket must be used by 12/31/10.  Some activities/events may be separately priced. Ticket types and entitlements are subject to change without notice. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. Parking is not included. Tickets must be picked up at Packet Pick-up. Baggage Claim
There will be a baggage drop off location at the start of the race. You must use the clear plastic bag you receive at Packet Pick-up to check your baggage. We will not accept any items that are not in the clear plastic bag.  Please do not check any valuable items. You will need to attach the top tear tag of your bib number to your bag when you drop it off at Baggage Claim.  Your race bib number will be used to verify your bag when you pick it up at Baggage Claim at the end of the race. Event staff are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Bib Numbers
Each runner will be issued a bib number at Packet Pick-up.  A ChronoTrack timing D-tag will be located on the back of the race bib. The disposable D-tag should be peeled off and attached to the runner's shoe on the morning of the race. It is the responsibility of the runner to wear the bib during the race. If a runner is seen without their bib number while running on the course, they will be removed from the course for Security and Safety Reasons.

Timing & Results
The Champion 5K at ESPN The Weekend presented by Dick's Sporting Goods is a timed event with a 15 minute per mile pace. The ChronoTrack timing system will be used for this race. A ChronoTrack timing D-tag will be located on the back of your race bib. The disposable D-tag should be peeled off and attached to the runner's shoe on the morning of the race. If you are picked up and transported to the finish line for any reason, you will not receive a finisher's medal. Safety

For the safety of yourself and the other participants, baby joggers, strollers, baby carriers, baby backpacks, inline skates, motorized scooters, bicycles, skateboards, and animals of any kind are prohibited from the course. If you are seen in violation of one of these you will be removed from the course and transported to the finish line area.

Course Description: The Champion 5K at ESPN The Weekend presented by Dick's Sporting Goods will begin right outside of Disney's Hollywood Studios™ in the Television Lot.  Run through the Lights, Motors, ActionTM Extreme Stunt Show and then on through the streets of New York City! The 5K course continues past the Sorcerer's Hat and through Sunset Boulevard where the glitz of Hollywood awaits! Experience the glory of sports throughout the course with sports trivia and a sneak peek of the ESPN The Weekend setup. The last leg of your 5K course loops past Rock 'n' Roller Coaster® starring AEROSMITH and The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ and finishes where you started  outside of Disney's Hollywood Studios™.

Water Stops & Medical Stops: There will be two water stops along the 5K course. Medical personnel will be on the course and at the finish line.

Photographers: ASI photographers will be on the course and at the finish line taking pictures of you during the race. Remember to keep your race number uncovered and in clear view.

Race Day Parking & Transportation
Race morning parking will be available at Disney's Hollywood Studios™ Theme Park. There will be no charge for parking.

Race Morning Transportation
Participants who reserve their rooms at one of the host resorts (Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort or Disney's All-Star Sports Resort) will be provided with race morning transportation. There will be no other race morning bus transportation available from the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resorts.

FAQs

Registration

What is included in the registration fee?  Each participant will receive a t-shirt, personalized race bib, timed race, a finishers medal and athlete refreshments.

Is there a Cast Member discount or Cast Member Challenge? Yes. Please email us at wdw.sports.marathon.endurance@disneysports.com for a discount code.

How do I know that I'm registered? If you registered online, you will receive a confirmation email from Active.com. This email will serve as your only confirmation of registration.  To get another confirmation email sent, click the Registration link, and then Confirmation.  Enter the email address that you used to register for the race.  A new registration confirmation will be emailed to you.

Can I get a refund on my race entry or transfer it to next year?  All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable. No exceptions will be made.

Are there pacing requirements?  Yes. Each participant must be able to maintain a 15-minute per mile pace.

Are there any age restrictions?  Yes. Participants must be 8 years of age or older. 

Is there a wheelchair division?  Yes. Participants using a racing style wheelchair will start the race at 6:58 am and should line up at the front of the starting coral. Participants using a non racing style wheelchair will start at 7:00 am and should line up at the back of the coral. 

Packet Pick-up

Do I need to bring anything with me to Packet Pick-up?  You MUST bring your Photo ID with you to Packet Pick-up. If you have your receipt and/or registration confirmation email from Active.com, we recommend that you bring that with you as well.

What are the Packet Pick-up locations and times? Packet Pick-up will take place at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex on Friday, February 26 from 4 pm - 8 pm and at Disney's Hollywood Studios™ on Saturday, February 27 from 5:45 am - 6:45 pm. Packet Pick-up hours and location are subject to change.

What if I can't make it to Packet Pick-Up?  Can someone else pick up my packet for me?  For someone else to pick up your packet, you will need to provide them with the following documents.  Both items MUST be provided. No exceptions will be made:
1) Copy of your Photo ID 
3) Signed event waiver (event waiver will be posted online approximately 2 weeks before the event). 

Can my race packet and t-shirt be mailed to me if I can't attend? Unfortunately, we are unable to mail race packets and t-shirts.

Event Information

What time does the race start? The race will begin promptly at 7:00 am on Saturday, February 27, 2010.

Will the event be timed?  Yes. All participants will be timed using the ChronoTrack timing system and results will be posted online.  ChronoTrack timing tags will be attached to the back of the race bibs and will be distributed at Packet Pick-up.  The disposable timing tag peels off of the bib and must be attached to your shoe on the morning of the race. 

Can I use my ChampionChip?  No. All participants will be timed using the ChronoTrack timing system. 

Where can I find more info about ChronoTrack?  For more information on the ChronoTrack timing system including how to attach the D-tag to your shoe please visit www.chronotrack.com/for-athletes. 

What time do I need to be at the start line? If you are parking at Disney's Hollywood Studios™ on race morning, you will need to arrive before 6:15 am.   

Will there be awards? Yes. Please see the Event Details page for a full list of Awards.  Overall award winners will be based on gun time. 

Are there water stops on the course?  Yes. There will be 2 water stops along the course. Please see the Event Details webpage for water stop locations.

Hotel and Theme Park Tickets

Are there specially priced hotel rooms available for 5K participants?  Yes!  You can call (407) 938-4868 to reserve your room today.  For rates and hotel choices, click on the Travel Details page on the website.

Can I purchase additional specially priced theme park tickets?  Each participant will be able to purchase up to five (5) specially priced 1-day theme park tickets during registration. You will only be able to purchase this specially priced 1-day theme park ticket during 5K registration. The 1-day ticket purchased with registration can only be picked up at Packet Pick-up on Friday or Saturday. The 1-day ticket WILL NOT be available to you before Packet Pick-up.

I didn't purchase the specially priced theme park ticket during registration. Can I add it now? Please contact us at 407-938-3398 if you would like to add the theme park ticket after you have registered.

I don't have a password or I lost mine.  How do I get another one?  To get another password click the Registration link, and then Confirmation.  Enter your email address that you used to register for the race.  A new registration confirmation will be emailed to you, including the password. 

If I order the theme park ticket through the On-line Ticket Store, how will I receive my tickets?  During your purchase, you will be able to select the method of delivery.

Parking & Transportation

Will transportation be provided? Race morning transportation will ONLY be provided to those participants who stay at the Host Hotels.  To see a list of the Host Hotels and rates, click on the Travel Details page.  Any participants not staying at the Host Hotels will be responsible for their own transportation.

Where should I park on race morning? Race morning parking will be available at Disney's Hollywood Studios™.  If you arrive before 7am there will be no charge for parking.

Spectators

Can my friends and family watch me during the race?  Spectators can view the start and finish of the race at the Television lot outside of Disney's Hollywood Studios™.  There will be no viewing areas along the course.

Photos

How do I find my race photos after the race?  To view your race photos, please visit www.asiorders.com. Race photos are typically posted a few days after the race.

Kids' Races

What are the distances and age groups for the Kids' Races?  The distances and age groups for the Kids' Races are 100m dash (ages 1-3), 200m dash (ages 4-6) and 400m dash (ages 7-8).   

What time do the Kids' Races start?  The Kids' Races will start at approximately 8:00am, following the conclusion of the 5K. Kids' Race participants should be at their start lines at 7:50am. 

Where do the Kids' Races start and finish?  The 100m dash will start at the green flags, the 200m dash will start at the yellow flags and the 400m dash will start at the blue flags.  All Kids' Races will use the same finish line as the 5K. 

Can I run with my child during the Kids' Races?  Yes!  Parents are encouraged to run with their children. 

Will there be onsite registration for the Kids' Races?  The Kids' Races are subject to capacity limits therefore all parents are encouraged to register their kids in advance online.  To register for the Kids' Races please go to the Registration page on the website.

Who is the beneficiary for the Champion 5K at ESPN The Weekend presented by Dick's Sporting Goods?  A portion of each entry fee will go to benefit The V Foundation for Cancer Research.

Theme Park Tickets

Specially priced theme park tickets are available for Disney's Princess Half Marathon Weekend presented by Lady Foot Locker participants and their friends and family. Your password to access the online theme park ticket store will be sent in your registration confirmation emails.

Purchase your Theme Park Tickets

These specially priced theme park tickets must be purchased in advance, (we suggest two weeks prior to your groups departure date) and are valid for 14 days from the first time of use.  Tickets expire on December 31, 2010.

NOTE: In order to purchase these tickets you must be participating in the event or have a family member or friend participating. This will be validated at time of purchase. Please note that the tickets are an already discounted product, therefore additional savings will not be reflected.
